19 Dec Ancient Prophecies Fulfill His Coming
The past few months I’ve been thinking so much about the prophecies concerning Jesus’ birth. It’s so exciting to me to think that He was mentioned over 2000 years ago in the Old Testament – and not just once but MANY times. If one reads the bible as a whole, they can’t help but discover that it is NOT just a book of stories full of fictional characters but truly is THE WORD OF ALMIGHTY GOD. In fact, the Bible has proven to be more historically and archaeologically accurate than any other ancient book! The prophecies about Jesus help to confirm this.
Here are just a few:
Micah 5:2 “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah,
yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old,
from everlasting.” This was written somewhere between 750 B.C. and 687 B.C.
Isaiah 7:14 “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.”
Hosea 11:1: “When Israel was a child, I loved him and out of Egypt I called my son.” (Mt. 2:13 explains this: “ Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him.”)
God is SO amazing. I love His Word. Just wanted to share some scriptures that focus on Jesus’ birth with you tonight . . . He’s the “reason for the season”, you know. 🙂
Travelling tomorrow. Until next time – Shalom.

P.S. (Recently, David Limbaugh came out with a book called The Emmaus Code – How Jesus Reveals Himself Through the Scriptures. You might want to check it out. I know I plan on doing this!)
