NO RECORD OF WRONGS

NO RECORD OF WRONGS

Hello friends –

I know it’s been awhile . . . and I sincerely hope you have been doing well in the interim!

Just a quick update:  I am still preparing to go into the studio and record a new project.  I have been in a “holding pattern” for quite awhile now but . . . I know God’s timing is perfect!  I continue to wait on Him as I prepare in many different ways for what He has prepared for me to do.  Part of that preparation is to continue meditating on His Word and allowing Him to mold and shape me to be a voice in today’s culture.  (Let me encourage you to do the same!  We need authentic voices more than ever to speak hope and truth to a society that is void of it!)

Now -on a much different note – yesterday, I read a devotional from Dr. Charles Stanley that complimented a conversation that I recently had with someone.  I wanted to share it with you . . . but first I wanted to share something with you that happened to me a few years ago . . .

I was with someone who can be very . . . trying . . . at times.  🙂  That person can say things that really sting – either about another person or to me.  Well, in this particular incident, they said something about someone else that really angered me.  And immediately my thought was, “I need to write this down so that I can tell so-and-so what they said'”.  (I wanted so-in-so to know what I go through in dealing with this person.)  But guess what?  Just as quickly as that thought came into my mind, another one overruled it and it was this:  “LOVE KEEPS NO RECORD OF WRONGS”.  Ummm . . . excuse me?  Hello Lord.  Ha, ha. There was no doubt in my mind who was speaking at that moment!!  The Holy Spirit had brought to my mind the end of 1 Cor. 13:5:  “. . . it keeps no record of wrongs” (regarding love).  Wow.  I figured I had better not write anything down at that point . . .

That said, I realize that it is often HARD to love certain people – but guess what?  It’s not an option for us who claim to be Christ-followers.  We are commanded to love.  1 Peter 4:8 says, “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins.”  We are to throw off offenses – which are many in these last days (Jesus prophesied this would happen – more on that later) and LOVE one another.  But – because of what we hear in our culture today – many times we are more concerned with our “rights” than obeying God, humbling ourselves, letting go of the offense and loving the person who has offended/hurt us.

That’s where Dr. Stanley’s message comes in . . . but I’ll save that for my next post.  🙂  So . . . to be continued.

Have a blessed Saturday seeking Him and loving others.

Trish

Proverbs 10:12  “Hatred stirs up quarrels, but love covers all offenses.”

Thank you for sharing this, Trish. It is such a good reminder not to keep a record of wrongs. That was truly the Holy Spirit reminding you of the word of truth. It is difficult to be unoffendable in relationships and to walk in love. I appreciate you!

Excellent reminder of why it is so important to hide God’s Word in our ❤️ so it can direct us quickly when we need it. That same passage (1 Corinthians 13:5 has stepped on my toes many times.)
